This page is the honest version of what this homepage actually does with cookies and third-party scripts. It is not a long legal code.

Analytics cookies

If you click Accept on the cookie banner, this site loads Google Analytics 4. The script and the page-view hits go through this site's own /stats path, then on to Google (googletagmanager.com and google-analytics.com). Google is a US company.

If you click Reject, analytics is not loaded. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using Privacy settings in the footer.

MIDI player

The taskbar MIDI player uses a script from https://www.midijs.net/lib/midi.js. The script loads only after you click Accept. midijs.net can then see your IP address and the page you came from. If you reject or later withdraw consent, the site does not load the script again unless you accept.

Things that stay in your browser

This site stores a few flags only on your computer: your analytics choice, a local hit counter, whether you have seen the dial-up intro, and the 56k modem tray setting. Those are not sent to me.

What this site does not collect

There is no account and no login. The guestbook form is a period prop and does not submit anything. The IRC chat and AI Oracle run in your browser.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any host, Vercel sees technical request data (IP address, browser, which URL you asked for).

How to change your choice

Use Privacy settings in the footer to reopen the banner and make a new choice. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics and MIDI-script loads.
